February 21, 2008

Hey all,

Sorry I have been gone so long but gosh it has been really busy here! I am taking English 2 Literature and Arts so I have to watch older movies like; Lord of the Flies, Diary of Anne Frank, Romeo and Juliet, etc.. and read books like; Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen (so far a great book), Moby Dick, and many more. Then I have to do a complete Shakespear profile and report on some of his greatest works. Then I have to do tons of book/movie synopsises, book reports, and much more! In total, I have to have 120 hours done to equal 1 Credit! ! ! And it all has to be done before this fall!!! I didn't start until January 2008 so I have to work on a bit of it through the Summer but that is fine because I love reading and watching movies! LOL It should be really easy in reality. It is silly how some High Schoolers dread this kind of work.

Well besides English, I just got this AWESOME High School Success Deluxe 2008 software for our PC and I am going to take up a new language. I can already speak a bit of Spanish but I am either going to take up French or Italian since that is my heritage. My grandfather on my father's side came from Italy when he was only 12 years old and my great-great-grandmother on my mom's side came from France when she was a young girl. I am also Czechoslovakian becauase my great-grandmother on my father's side came from Czecholslovakia when she was a young woman. So I am 40% French, 20% Czechosovakian, 25% Italian, and the rest is American and possibly 5% Polish. Goodness, that is an interesting mix huh! LOL

Also, I am reading "The Beginning of the Republic 1775-1825 by: Clarence B. Carson. It is a great book of information from date to date of what happened during the Revolutionary War, when George Washington becames president and how many other things came to place. You know, many people assume that after the Revolutionary War, we had our freedom and we were done fighting but really, the war continued a few years afterwards and more so because we had only won 13 states after the Revolutionary War! : )

And also, I watched a video a couple days ago called "Case for Creation" and in that video, the speaker was James Kennedy, a former preacher for the Coral Ridge Church. He said that in the early 90's, a poll was taken on how many people wanted Creation or Evolution or both taught in the public schools. It turned out like this;

10% of American parents wanted ONLY Creation taught in public schools across America

8% of American parents wanted ONLY evolution taught in public schools across America

and 76% of America parents wanted BOTH taught in public schools so the children could decide which one they want to believe in and yet still today, only evolution is taught in public schools and the government is trying their hardest to rid every place in America of God's HOLY NAME!!! They took the Ten Commandments out of the schools and now practically every week you hear of a teen taking a gun into school and hurting or attempting to hurt innocent students! Now you can't pray in school over your lunch, you can't talk about God or Jesus Christ, you can't read your Holy Bible and are forbidden to take Bibles into schools! ! ! What is this country coming to??? Now even worse, they want to take IN GOD WE TRUST off of our money! They better not because that would be just like basphemy against God! But here is the good part, we can make a difference! Goverment will change as we, young teens and preteens, continue to grow with God's wisdom, and we, if God is calling, can take a stand and vote for a godly president, we could even run for president or governer or whatever you feel God is calling you to! And if you don't think God wants something quite so large, then PRAY. That is one thing that no one can stop us from doing. Be like Daniel from the Bible and pray three times everyday (grace over meals don't count : )
Be a pray warrior and at every oppurtunity you see, be a godly example shinning God's light in your speach and actions. Remember, actions speak louder than words!

God bless you all and have a wonderful day,
Social Butterfly
