Chapter One to my story "The Last Dragon of Argon"

I have decided that once a week, I will post a chapter of my book on the blog and hopefully finish it while you read it. I know I had had a goal to finish by New years but that was last year! LOL So my new goal to set is to finish before Summer is over. I know it seems far away but I have 10 chapters done in my story and I hope to end the story with at least 25 chapters. I will try to work on my story every evening but I have an extremely busy schedule so I am just happy that I can keep up with my blog (most times)! : )
Enjoy and tell me what you think!!!

~ Chapter One ~

This story begins with a youthful fifteen year old boy named Erick, full name Erick Artix Brock. Erick has dark hair and sea blue eyes. At 5’10 he is considered average size in his village.
His mother Aquella Brock is thirty-seven and he would swear to anyone she had a greener thumb for planting than anyone else in the whole town of Kantervin.
The country house where Aquella had raised Erick in just outside of the town was surrounded by a fence of the most beautiful flowers and bushes ever seen and all the women of town loved to come visit and stroll with Aquella in her lavish gardens.
When Erick was younger he loved to hide for hours with his friends and run with the animals from the barn, hiding from his mother, not wanting to do his barn chores.

The inside of the home was filled with tons of potted plants, furnished with simple but sturdy wooden chairs that Erick had carved at age 10. He loved working with wood and that is how he had gotten his job working for a wooden furnishings maker, Mr. Nimrod.

According to his mother, his father had died in a riding accident when he was a just a small baby. If only Erick knew how true that really was.

It is now summer of 1644 and it is probably the warmest time anyone in Kantervin could remember.
King Uldor was the ruler of Argon for his older brother Bradaken had died in a terrible accident fifteen years ago with his wife Aria and their long forgotten baby.
The body of the king had been found but they haven’t a clue to what had happened to the queen and her baby boy.
Some say she may have jumped before the crash with her baby and had not survived while others say they may have been killed by a Dark Malth.
No one except Aquella Brock knew what really happened to him, but she wisely kept it a secret not to be revealed until a few more years.

Erick woke at about five in the morning and went to the barn to care for the animals. First he took care of his black horse, a Clydesdale named Star, for the white star on the gelding’s forehead.
“Hey there big boy. Did you miss me?”
Star nickered and raised his head as if to say yes.
Erick laughed.
He hurried to finish up feeding his gelding, and went to care for their newborn calf and the tired mother.
The mother a dark brown spotted cow had given birth a week earlier than expected and the baby calf – a boy – wasn’t growing as well as they wanted.
But the better half of the news was that for the past week the calf had been eating much better and had often been trying to stand.
Once he’d finished up, he ran into his home to find his mother Aquella serving up a dish of food for him.
“Erick, how is the calf doing?”
“Well he has attempted getting on his feet but he failed. As far as eating goes, you would not guess he’s just a baby!”
They both laughed.

Aquella scolded him when he tried to run off to work without eating, “You must eat before you go. Nimrod doesn’t want you falling asleep on the job!”

Erick shoveled the food down his throat and ran out the door shouting goodbye to his mother, his dish still rattling on the table.
Aquella watched from the window as Erick briskly walked away, sun shining on his head and the light breeze whipping through his dark hair.

~

The walk to the village was pleasant. Not a cloud was in the sky and there didn’t seem to be a single worry in the air.

‘It is definitely going to be a beautiful day today,’ Erick thought to himself as he jogged down the old dirt path.

He watched as a rabbit munched on the dew covered grass, a few birds that seemed to be playing tag, and the most wonderful sight was a mother doe with her fawn, prancing in the meadows free at their own will.

"Definitely a beautiful day", he whispered.

Hello

Hi girls,

I know I have been neglecting my blogging responsibility and I am sorry but at least I am back now! So how have you all been doing? I have been very busy the past couple days. My schedule for Friday was like this: woke up at 8am, left to babysitt at 9am, babysitter dropped me off at Band at 12:30pm, my mom's friend picked me up from band at about 3:15pm and took me to a hair and beauty supply store to get hair accesories, hair spray and gel, and curlers for my hair to be done by her on Saturday before the dance for my Sweet Sixteen. I got home around 4:20pm and my parents left to go out to eat and grocery shopping and got back at about 7:30pm because my baby brother was awake and HUNGRY! LOL I took a shower using the shampoo that is supposed to make my hair more easy to work with and voluminous (it wasn't voluminous when it dried) and I went to bed after chores and family prayer at about 10pm.

The next morning, Saturday, my sister woke me up by tearing my sheets and comfoter off my bed and shouted "It's time to wake up and get breakfast!!!!" Boy did I get mad! LOL I hadn't fallen asleep until nearly 11pm so I did get 9 hours of sleep but gosh, I got a pretty strange and inconvinient wake up call! : )

After recovering my bed back together and getting dressed, we went to our free breakfast at the community center and we pick up tickets from the theater and got back home at about 10:15am. We took care of the baby and our dad took us to see "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything" for the free matinee. I normally don't watch cartoons but it was a cute movie. After I got back home, I went straight to my friends house and she did my hair. I tell you that Sara is a total Godsend! She spent over three hours to curl my hair just right and I felt just like a princess. She even got me an iced coffee in my favorite flavor! She paid for all of the equipment and gel and whatnot for my Sweet Sixteen b-day present and now I owe her four hours of free babysitting which I will gladly do because she definitly earned it by keeping up with my thick hair! Just to show the marvelous job Sara did, here is a picture of the back where all the beautiful hair was pinned! I left for the dance a little after five and got there a few minutes early. I met my friend Katelyn there and we had a lot of fun seeing some homeschoolers from the last dance we had attended and we took dance lessons from Mr. Smooth (not his real last name but that is what he went by for the night) and he taught us how to Cha Cha, Swing Dance, and Waltz. I had a wonderful time and I am excited to get my next dress for the next dance I attend! The dance ended at 11pm and I got home about 11:30pm. I didn't get into bed until after 1am!!! Boy did I sack out! LOL I had a pretty awesome time! BTW, I know the picture says the date was 4/27/08 but it is set one day ahead. I haven't fixed that yet but I will soon!

Beautiful Story

Hello there,

If you would like to read the most beautiful, touching, and inspirational yet sad story, go to www.audreycaroline.blogspot.com and read Angie and Todd Smith's story. You may recognize the name Todd Smith from the Christian Band "Selah". You will need tissues and you will probably cry, I don't know who wouldn't cry because I sure did. This is great to read with a loved one because you may need a shoulder to cry onto. I don't regret reading this and I don't think you will either. Tell me what you thought of the story when you are done reading it. I would love to hear your thoughts on how God can change and do so much in such a short life time!

Love in Jesus,

My 16th Birthday!!!

Hey,
Yesterday was my SWEET SIXTEEN! YEA ME! Well I will tell you all about my BIG day. This morning we had sunny-side-up eggs, english muffins, sausage, and hashbrowns for breakfast. After breakfast, we went to church and after the lovely message, went to the dollar store to get my dad a newspaper, then went to get a cake and groceries from a local grocery store, and then got my free birthday pizza. We came home and ate lunch (pizza, salad and cake) and then I opened my presents. I got two beautiful rings which are the pictures above. The rings with the heart in the center is my sweet sixteen purity ring to remind me to stay true to God and save my kiss for my future husband that God is preparing for me. : )
Besides the rings I got a shadow box (you can put pictures inside and decorate it, one of my hobbies), a headband, and $20 dollars from my greatgrandmother and a lotion/bodywash kit from my grandparents. I haven't had my party yet but I want to wait for warmer weather I think. Well after opening my gifts, we went shopping for groceries and shoes for my baby brother. We didn't get home until almost 8pm so we had a late dinner of hamburgers and veggies. They were good! I took a shower after my busy day and went to bed after giving my mother a back rub (it helps her sleep with her insomnia and all).
Overall, I had a great day and wouldn't trade a minute of it for anything.
Happy,

Hey bloggers,

Sorry I have been so busy. Babysitting picked up a bit this week and I was grateful for the extra money. But I would like to tell you about my Saturday! Last Saturday I went to the mall to see College Road Trip with my friend for her birthday. It was an EXCELLENT movie, great for daddys and daughters to see together. After that we went to a rather expensive store and tried on tons of prom and sun dresses! I found several that I would have loved to buy but the cheapest sun dress was $38! I can make my own for a 1/4 that price or less! LOL Well anyway, after that, we all went to Subway for lunch and I got the 6" combo (sub, chips and large pop) and most of the other girls did the same. After eating, which we had been starving before, we went to shop around the mall. We looked at Claire's, American Eagle (found tons of cute clothes but all over my budget), The Coffee Beanery and a couple others. Then my parents picked me up and we headed home. I changed because it was warmer than usual out so I put on my new camo bermudas, my pink tank, and a white zipper hoodie and we headed out after I helped make sandwiches for a snack. We went to the local park and ate in the gazebo. I raced with my brother and sister and beat them almost everytime having the advantage of being 5' 8"! LOL Well after that we played around in the park and went to run a couple errands to get my sister a toy exchange and then went home because my baby brother was crying (yes he is a boy!). Once we got home, all the neighborhood kids were playing outside so I went biking, rollerblading (my favorite!), played frizbee, and jumped on my friends trampoline. It was a lot of fun! After we had put all of our toys and bikes and other stuff away, I went with my dad to get pizza for dinner. While at the store, I bought lindt chocolate's orange dark chocolate! One of my all time favorites!!! : ) After dinner, I watched Lord of the Rings II: the Twin Towers with my mom and brother. I got my pjs on, brushed my teeth (yes I do keep my hygiene as clean as possible), and said prayers with my family before crawling into bed after 11pm. I wanted to read but I couldn't keep my eyes open! : P Well that was my Saturday. I will write more soon but I would also like to hear from all of you! Tell me about your weekend or something fun you did. I would love to hear about it!

Until next time,
