Haircuts, babysitting, and more

Hey Blog readers,
So on Friday, I babysat in the morning and when I got back at a little after noon, I ate lunch, read, and did some chores until it was close to 3pm. Then my mom and I left to get my haircut. I took 2 inches off the bottom, fixed up the layers, and cut my side-swept bangs. After the haircut I easily could tell that I was going to like my haircut! Sara (the nice lady who cut my hair) was super friendly and did a great job! Here is a before and after picture.

Before
After

You can't see the layers very well in this picture but they do look really nice. So after I got my haircut, my parents went out to eat and I stayed home with my siblings. Baby was sleeping for the most part so I mostly did clean-up after making dinner.

Saturday morning I babysat from 8am to 12:15pm and my family got back from the chiropractor about 30 minutes after I had gotten home. We mostly relaxed, did some chores, and had family time on Saturday. My dad and I went to Kohls and I bought 4 camies for the price of one! Then we went to get a pizza at like 10pm and got it half off. So that was our crazy late night snack for the week.

Sunday morning was kinda crazy because AJ woke up real early and fell asleep when it was time to go to church so we stayed home and did Bible time together as a family. Again, we didn't really go anywhere and just layed back and enjoyed one another.

Monday was nice. I took my baby brother for a walk with my other brother at about 8:30am. It was kinda cool but it felt nice because it was sunny. We did reading as a family and devotion time. I worked on my story and read my English assignment. That evening, my friend invited me over and we hung out together at her house which is rather close to mine.

Tuesday was great too. I took another walk with my brothers early in the morning. I just love early starts because it seems that then the day doesn't go by too fast. Too many people are go go go and not enough relaxation taking in God's beauty. I babysat as usual and fortunatly wasn't locked out of the house. After babysitting, I came home a few minutes after my dad and we had dinner. We relaxed with one another the rest of the evening.

Today was a bit crazy because I was up with AJ three times last night and so I missed over 4 hours of important sleep! He was up at 2am, 3:30am, 5am, and then stayed awake with me from about 6:55am til my mom fed him at 7:41am. He slept in my mom's bed. My mom had to go get our car from the shop because we needed our key controller locks to be fixed. My brother mowed the lawn while I took care of AJ and my sister and cleaned up the house because my grandma Rose and great aunt Lynn came over today. We had a nice visit and I was happy to see my aunt because we don't see her very often besides holidays with all the family. My dad came home as they were leaving and we went to the chiropractor. AJ slept the way there which was good because he was getting sleepy. When we came home from the chiropractor, it was almost 7pm. We hadn't had dinner yet and so we whipped up sizzle steaks, cheese rice, mozerella cheese sticks, and carrots (we needed something healthy with all those carbs!). My mom and I took a walk after cleaning up dinner. We met a new neighbor and she may be using me soon to babysitt her two little ones. I just looove babysitting because I just adore little kids. Not that they aren't cute when they are older but the younger ones and just so fun! After our walk, I helped my mom give baby a bath and then we watched home videos of when my sister was a baby and my brother and I were toddlers, over 8 years ago! We were a funny trio. Now I am here after brushing my teeth and saying family prayers.

Tell me what you think of my haircut!!!

Goodnight,

Make your own lip balm!

Lip Balm 101

Want to make your own lip balm? Use these recipes and then place your lip balm in small decorative tins that you can purchase at craft and dollar stores. These recipes make a small amount, so increase them as needed.

Quick and Easy Lip Balm or Gloss
What You Need:
2 teaspoons shortening
1 teaspoon powder drink, any flavor
What to Do: Mix in a measuring cup until smooth. Melt the mixture in a microwave or over low heat. Pour into a container. Chill and store in the fridge.

Beeswax Lip Balm
What You Need:
2 tablespoons grated beeswax
1 teaspoon honey
6 tablespoons shortening
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
What to Do: Melt the shortening and beeswax together in a small pan over low heat until the beeswax is melted. Remove from the stove, add the honey and gently stir together until cool. Then stir in the vanilla. Pour into a container. Chill before using.

Chocolate Lip Balm
What You Need:
3 tablespoons cocoa butter
1 capsule vitamin E (found at the drugstore)
5 chocolate chips (butterscotch chips could be used as well)
What to Do:
Squirt the vitamin E into a small pan, add other ingredients and melt on low heat, blending with a spoon until smooth. Put into a container and refrigerate until cool and solid.

Try one out and tell me what you think!

IMPORTANT!!!

OK now this is really important! I need you all to tell me what you think!

I am getting my haircut tomorrow because my side swept bangs are too long and my hair just needs it to stay healthy! My hair is about 7 inches past my shoulders (i did finger measuring) so tell me how many inches I should cut off. 1inch, 2,3 or 4 I don't know! I think I will do 2 inches because I like my hair long and flexible for any style and I am going to have them redo my layers as well. Do you think that is good or should I do something different. Here is a pic of the back of my hair.

Comment SOON!

First half of the week

OK, so starting on Monday nothing really exciting happened. I started my monthly cycle so I was kinda moody but definitly in pain. I spent the majority of my day on the couch with a good book (or the remote to a big screen tv... he he he). Anyway, that evening I felt much better and so I was able to walk around the sub with my mom and dad and baby brother.

On Tuesday, I was feeling icky in the early morning but by 9am I was ok. We tried to make it to a 10:30 showing of Nim's Island for $1 at a theater near our house but they were sold out by the time we got there and we arrived at about 10:20 or so.
I was happy because I had seen in the Kohls ad a buy one pair of jeans get second free deal and my mom said we could go in the evening after dinner. So I had something to look forward too because I have been wanting to use my giftcard for Kohls for a while.
I went babysitting at 2:30pm and everything was going well until Noah (age 5, 6 in two weeks) locked me out of the house because I sent him to his room for something he had done wrong. I was pretty upset with him once he opened the door five minutes after I was done screaming and banging on the door with Marina (age four) and Summer (age 2) looking around and probably slightly confused by what I was doing. I gave him a longer time out that usual for that and told him "NEVER do that again!" So that was the first excitment of the day.
I got home at a little after 5pm and ate dinner with my lovely family. We had grilled hamburgers and veggies. It was really good! After cleaning up the kitchen and getting my baby brother to bed, my mom and I left for Kohls.
I found some jeans I really like right away and tried on two pairs (both different sizes) to see which side I would need. I ended up getting the size 5 so that when they shrink they will still fit right. So since it was buy on get one free, I would have gotten two pairs of jeans for $31.67 but I had a $20 gift card so then my total came to $11.67 but then I had a $10 coupon for the Juniors department so in the end, my total was $1.67 for TWO pairs of jeans!!! Is that a GREAT deal or what! Talk about some serious blessings from God here. I also found some really cute shorts that I wanted to buy (i will post pic of them tomorrow) but we had a 20% off coupon that we could use the next day so I put them on hold for Wednesday. When I got home from Kohls with my amazing jeans, I showered and then called my friend Katelyn to ask her to go to the Nim's Island movie with me the next morning. She said sure so the rest happened Wednesday.

On Wednesday, I woke up from my alarm clock at 7:20am but didn't get out of bed until a little after 8am. I was reading my book and didn't want to put it down! We had eggs and toast for breakfast (compliments to the chef, thanks Mom!) and then we got dressed and ready for the movies. We left our house 15 minutes before 10am so that we would be sure to get out tickets this time! Well we arrived to find out that the theater doesn't open uptil 10 so we had to wait 12 minutes til we could get in. After purchasing our tickets, we ran to Kohls (right down the road from the theater) to buy my shorts and some clothes for my brother from putting them on hold the day before. They couldn't 'find' them!!! So we said, "Please continue looking and we will return after our movie to buy them". We arrived at the theater just minutes before the movie started and joined up with my friend Katelyn. We had a really hard time finding seats and Katelyn and I had to sit in a different row than the rest of my family because we couldn't find a row with 5 seats all together! The movie was great! I liked everything except when the dad makes a mention of "mother nature". Anyone with common sense knows that there is NO mother nature! But anyways, after the movie, we went to JCpenny because we had a $10 coupon for anything we want to buy and I bought the cutest wedge heel silver shoes to wear with my nicer dresses and with my prom dress for the Masquerade Ball coming up in October! I was so excited because they were on sale regularely $45 for only $11 so we had to pay only tax and $1!!! Then we went to Kohls to pick up my shorts and I bought them. During all this, Katelyn and I are taking turns holding my baby brother so our arms wouldn't get too tired.
We finally got back to my house two hours after the movie had ended! Our "quick" errands hadn't been as quick as we had thought they would be. : P
Katelyn and I made pb&j's for lunch and ate them while watching a couple episodes of Monk. While we had been watching Monk, my grandma had come over to visit my mom and see the baby. Since Katelyn lives so close to where my grandma's house is, my grandma took her home so my mom wouldn't have to so it all worked out perfectly.
At 5pm, everyone except my baby brother and I, left for the chiropractor. Me, I just stayed home while my brother napped and relaxed with my book. My brother woke up after sleeping for 90 minutes and I took him out on the porch and turned on the fountain. He loves watching the water. My family came home with a supreme pizza (not the healthiest choice but we had salads with it) for dinner. I went to bed after another shower, said my prayers, read my book until I couldn't keep my eyes open, and finally fell asleep.

Today my cousins and Aunt came over. We had a nice time visiting them. We chatted, I spent some time talking with my Aunt and mom and grandma (she arrived shortly after my aunt) and also spent some time caring for my baby brother while my cousins and siblings played together outside. We had chicken salad for lunch (homemade) and then we chatted and relaxed together. The time flew by sooo fast! My grandma left at 4 but my aunt stayed for dinner. Everyone seemed to be eating something different for dinner! My parents had pasties, my aunt had tortilla soup, my baby brother had apricots and chicken baby food, my sister had a turkey sandwhich, my cousin Kaylyn had a chicken pot pie, my cousin Gabrielle had a bologna sandwhich and I can't remember what my brother ate and I had leftover pizza from the night before! I ended up washing 9 dishes from out meals! LOL We were sad when our cousins and Aunt had to leave but we will see them again soon. After they left, my friend called and she and her brother came over. Her brother Jason came to show my brother some stuff about the guitar because my brother is thinking about taking lessons. I hung out with my friend the whole time they were over. After they left, I rode my bike a bit, took a walk with my family, and then came inside to get ready for bed. After helping bathe my baby brother and get him in bed, I got on the PC to type all this out!I am really tired now so this is the end for now.

I will post more l8r,

Until next time,

AMAZING Math Trick

Ok everyone,
You must try this out!

Here is a math trick so unbelievable that it will stump you.
1. Grab a calculator. (you won't be able to do this one in your head)
2. Key in the first three digits of your phone number (NOT the area code)
3. Multiply by 80
4. Add 1
5. Multiply by 250
6. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number (ex. 2135 would be two thousand one hundred and thirty five)
7. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again.
8. Subtract 250
9. Divide number by 2
Do you recognize the answer?
Have fun! Make sure you forward on...so that your friends can have fun as well :-)
Have a great day!!!!!!!!

Tell me if it worked for you too!

Until Next post,

Last few days

OK so since the last time I posted, here is the happenings;

On Thursday, we went to the Zoo. After getting inside, we went into the main gift shop and I found these TOTALLY CUTE sunglasses for only $11! So as you can tell, I bought them with my babysitting money. My parents bought an adorable Ranger hat for my baby brother since we forgot his other hat and we set off to see the animals. We saw lions, tigers, and bears, OH MY! LOL No, seriously we did see those, are more. We watched some funny monkeys and I took a video so you can watch that here:

After watching the crazed monkeys, we saw giraffes, hippos, elephants, gazelles, and many other animals that you wouldn't see on a walk through the park. We had a LOT of fun and it was perfect weather the whole day.

Before we left, we stopped at the gift shop one last time and my parents bought me a cute penguin key chain.

On Friday, we did a few different things, first we ate breakfast and got dressed (i think most people do that before leaving the house) and then we took off for the bank! Actually we did because my dad was running low on cash and then we went to GLOW GOLF!!!!! Oh yes, you read right! We had a great time there. One funny thing was when I hit the ball for hole number 9, it bounced out of the boundaries and landed PERFECTLY in hole number 10!!!! It was insane! I couldn't believe it until I looked and sure enough it was there! LOL After golfing, we played in the Arcade. It is amazing how fast a family can blow through 100 tokens! But I must say I got a good prize, a light up cross necklace. It is actually quite nice. Anyways, after using up all our tokens and getting our prizes, we went out for ice cream. Then my brother and I went to the Teen Library Summer Reading Finally Party! (long name huh?) The acrobatic show in the beginning was great but the video games and toilet paper bracelet making was kinda lame for a LIBRARY party. I ended up reading my book (which is an amazing fictional book that is Christian, its titled "The Legend of the Firefish" and you have to check it out!!!) for the evening.

On Saturday, we went to the Chiropractor and then went out to lunch and the Old Country Buffet. As people do at any buffet, we ate as much as we could hold. Then when we came home, everyone except me and my baby brother, went to see Journey to the Center of the Earth (don't worry, my grandma has already taken me to see it). At the end of the evening, we watch Monk together and then went to bed.

Today, we ate a lovely breakfast of eggs, toast, and some fruit and then got dressed and left for church. The message was on listening for God's call. Often times there is honestly too much noise to hear God's gentle call. During the message, my baby brother was smiling at the dear elderly lady sitting behind us and she leaned over to say to my dad who was holding my brother, "Your baby is flirting with me!" LOL It was so funny but I tried as hard as I could to not laugh. It was very cute though. And of course, during prayer my baby brother started to talk as if agreeing with the pastor on what he was praying about. Well after church, we did all the chores we should have done on Saturday. We dusted, cleaned counters, vacuumed out the van, washed the tub, cleaned all the floors, you name it we cleaned it! So now I am posting this before I hop in the shower and relax. I will post more later.

Enjoy your Sunday, Blessings,

Butterfly

Our day at the BEACH!!!!

Hey blogger readers,
Today my family and I went to the best place to go in Summer...... THE BEACH!!!! I was soooo happy because I have been wanting to go all Summer and we finally went today! I took a few pics to show you but first let me tell you what we did.
Once we arrived, we parked, carried all our stuff out that we needed and found a picnic table. My dad got the miny grill going while my mom and I played with my baby brother and my brother and sister played catch. After a while we walked down to the pier to see the water and boats. When we came back, my dad was taking the hotdogs off the grill and they were yummmy! After eating, we play a bit more. My brother and I played baseball and then we packed up to get our beach stuff and put the grill and such away in the van. My sister and I changed into our swimsuits and after setting up chairs and the beach blanket, we ran for the water. My mom and I played in the water with my baby brother and it was sooooo nice because it was warm like bath water! I didn't get completely soaked but I got pretty wet still. My little brother loooved the water and was giggling and smiling. He was probably thinking, "I wish my bath was this big!" LOL After playing in the water, I sat out on my beach chair and soaked up some sun while talking with my mom and playing with my brother. It was nice because the clouds would come and go so we would get breaks of clouds in between the sunshine. Anyway, after being at the beach for a couple hours, we went to the Farm that is right next to the beach. (below is a picture of piglets born just two weeks ago.) My baby brother was fascinated with the animals. I still think horses and the most majestic and beautiful farm animal. After the farm, we went to Cracker Barrel for dinner and my mom and I split the meatloaf dinner. It was real good. After looking around the shop (which already had Halloween and Christmas decorations up) we came home around 8:45 PM or so. Here are the pictures. Tell me what you think!

Until next time,
Butterfly
p.s. I am thinking about growing my hair out real long so I can cut it and donate it to locks of love. Keep me in your prayers that God will give me wisdom on this subject. THANKS!

Precious Moments and Weekend plans

This is a picture of me holding my baby brothers hand. It just looks so cute I totally had to share it with you all! Tell me what you think!

Also I have been busy babysitting. I don't mind being busy but sometimes I just NEED to slow down and take a BREAK!
So tomorrow I am excited because we are going bowling after going to the Chiropractor. Last time I had a pretty good score of over 120. I will see if I can beat it this time. So I will post more later and can't wait to read your comments!

Until Later,

Butterfly
